| Pinoy rock legends to rock San Diego on June 12 |
The Juan Dela Cruz Band US Reunion Tour 2010 is winging to San Diego on June 12 at the McDini's Diner & Event Center located at 105 East 8th Street, National City, CA91950, after which the famed group will travel to Los Angeles, San Francisco and Chicago to complete their 2010 US Reunion Tour.
This one-of-a kind reunion concert tour for the Filipino rock legends Juan Dela Cruz Band, joined in by the inimitable Lolita Carbon of Asin, "is a must-see event for fans and lovers of the Philippines' rock music Pinoy style, which was popular in the '60s," according to TEN founder-president Joel Leonardo Macaspac, concert co-producer. The group has chosen Bantay Bata program of ABS-CBN in the Philippines as concert beneficiary to show their support and concern for orphans and underprivileged children in the home country. Bantay Bata has been in the forefront of providing health, medical, education and legal services to thousands of needy children in the Philippines for a number of years now.
"The wonderful and classic music of the Juan Dela Cruz Band continues to dazzle their die-hard fans who are now in their 50s and 60s, and has even found its way into the hearts and consciousness of the next generation, including non-Filipinos," Macaspac added. Reason why he teamed up with fellow Philippine entertainment promoter Annabelle Abesamis of AA Entertainment Rongi Enterprise, to showcase the iconic band and the incomparable Ms. Lolita Carbon in a grand musical tour of the West Coast.
Such is the influence of the Juan Dela Cruz Band that younger generations of Filipino Canadians and Filipino Americans, have been inspired to compose their own original Pinoy music with obvious pride and admiration for their roots, having found role models and inspiration in the band and its unique brand of home grown rock music.

Kroc Theater, 6611 University Ave, San Diego on February 13 and 14, 2010, Saturday, at 8:00 p.m. and on Sunday at 2:00 p.m. The two-hour program of popular Filipino folk dances, choreographed for theater performance by Ruby Pearl B. Chiong, will showcase SAMAHAN's rich repertoire in vivid and colorful costumes. The exhilarating Maria Clara and Rural dances are performed with the lively music of the Samahan Rondalla under the direction of Frederick Embalsado, promising an enjoyable evening. In the Rural Suite, the ever popular Ilaw-Wasiwas, Binasuan and Tinikling, which Samahan dancers perform with skill and joy, end with a fast paced, very creative version of the Tinikling.
Southern Philippine tribal dances will be accompanied by the Samahan Kulintang Ensemble also known as the Pakaraguian Kulintang Ensemble, led by Bernard Ellorin, an Ethnomusicology graduate student at the University of Hawaii, Manoa. The ensemble, which is one of the few presently playing the authentic music of the Maguindanao and Maranao tribes of Mindanao in the U.S., was trained by Danongan Sibay Kalanduyan, Master Artist/Teacher of Kulintang Music. Ruby Chiong will showcase dances including Sagayan, a war dance of both the Maguindanaons and Maranaos of Mindanao. The colorful and distinctive headgear and skirts worn by the dancers reflect the pageantry attached to the dance which is now commonly used as entertainment in weddings and other social gatherings. Interpretation of dances of the T'boli tribe of Cotabato will feature the authentic, intricately embroidered blouses, beaded necklaces and unique musical belts of the female dancers.

| Kris waives talent fee in “Mano Po 6” |
MANILA, Philippines – Kris Aquino fulfilled her promise to producer Lily Monteverde and daughter Roselle Monteverde-Teo to do a supporting role in Regal Films’ grand production of "Mano Po 6: My Mother," the outfit’s official entry to this year’s Metro Manila Film Festival (MMFF).
Despite her tight schedule, Kris agreed to play the best friend of Megastar Sharon Cuneta in the film, lending stellar appeal to the powerhouse cast that also includes Christopher de Leon, Zsa Zsa Padilla, Heart Evangelista, Dennis Trillo and Ciara Sotto.
Kris admits she didn’t think twice after Roselle called her up to offer her a guest role in "Mano Po 6," directed by Joel Lamangan. Kris also waived her talent fee for the movie.
"Mother Lily has been very good to our family," Kris asserted. "We owe her a lot. Doing this movie is only a little favor compared to what she has done for me and my family. It’s the only way I can give a meaningful gift to Mother Lily, a gift of my time and presence."
Although she allotted only four shooting days for "Mano Po 6," Kris is doing several scenes with Sharon in the movie in a Chinese restaurant, in jail, in a hospital, at the cemetery, inside the car.
