Eugene Amano continues to make history
By Brandi Perez

Tennessee Titan’s Eugene Amano is making history once again. The San Diego resident recently signed a five-year $26.25 million contract. The veteran guard agreed to terms with the Titans on February 17, 2010.

“I truly am blessed and thankful to be in the position I am today,” Amano said. “It did not come easy by any means, so signing this new deal is a culmination of a lot of hard work and dedication. It just goes to show that anything is possible if you work hard and never give up.”

The 6’3”, 310-pounder has been a key factor in the success of the Titans’ offensive line. With the help of Amano, the offensive line has ranked second in the league in rushing yards (4,791) the past two years and also tied with the Indianapolis Colts for the fewest sacks allowed (27).

In 2009, the offensive-line blocked for the NFL’s second best running attack (162 yards per game) and paved the way for running back Chris Johnson to become the sixth player in NFL history to rush for 2,000 yards in one season.

That same year, the Titans averaged more than five yards a carry and became the first NFL team to allow 15 or fewer sacks.

Filipinas change the face of football

By Brandi Perez

NATIONAL CITY, Calif. – Women’s professional sports have a new edition. And it’s one that’s leaving watchers wide-eyed and surprised. San Diego has become home to one of the 10 Lingerie Football League teams, San Diego Seduction.

The LFL was originated from the Super Bowl alternative halftime show called the Lingerie Bowl, which was broadcasted opposite the Super Bowl halftime show.

It is in its first year of play, with five teams in the Eastern and Western Conference. The 10 teams are scheduled to compete in a 20-week season from September 2009 to January 2010.

For those who doubt the credibility of the sport, it is full-contact play and a combination of the Continental Indoor Football League and arena football.
The only difference is the uniform. It consists of helmets, shoulder pads, elbow pads, knee pads and yes... lingerie.
